111 Senior Clinical Advisor

As an experienced registered professional, the role of 111 Senior Clinical Advisor can provide a new challenge, using your skills in a different way to assess patient needs over the telephone and also providing leadership and clinical supervision to a team.  Our Senior Clinical Advisors are responsible for the telephone assessment of health and clinical needs, utilising professional clinical judgement, supported by decision support software (NHS Pathways). This requires generalist and specialist skills to assess and deliver care to patients across all age groups in an e-health (contact centre) environment.

In the role will provide assessment, medication advice, and health information supporting individuals to access the appropriate level of care including advice to manage their symptoms at home.

As well as providing advice and support to patients, our Senior Clinical Advisors also play a critical role in supervising, teaching, precepting and mentoring other staff which may include students, other Clinicians and Health Advisors.

As a Senior Clinical Advisor, alongside my Clinical Auditing and Mentoring roles, my work is varied and is always interesting. You never know what call will come next, one minute you could be dealing with a day old baby and the next a 90 year old vulnerable adult in a care home. I learn something new every day and I feel I make a difference to people’s lives every day and that is the most rewarding thing about this job.
